Training and Social Runs - Currently Suspended

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are not holding any training sessions or social runs, and parkrun is also suspended.

We are currently permitted to exercise with one person from outside our household – if you want some company for a run, walk or bike ride, please post in our Facebook group.  Newent parkrun are holding “personal parkrun events” (run 5k on Saturday morning on your own route) – you can check these out on their Facebook page.  We also have various virtual challenges to keep us going, which will be posted in our members’ Facebook group.

Please adhere to the latest government guidelines, available from – they will be more up to date than this site.  Stay safe and well everyone, looking forward to when we can train together again.  Our usual weekly programme is below.

Please note that Wednesday is the only coached session. All other events are informal social runs (often led by a qualified leader, but not always) and, as such, you participate at your own risk.

All welcome. Meet at Newent Comprehensive School 6.30. Variety of routes to suit all abilities – this week’s route will be posted on the Facebook group.  Hi viz and head torch required in winter months.

Meet at the Newent Library car park by the Doctors Surgery entrance for 6.30pm start – keep your eye on the Facebook page for last minute changes. Hi viz and head torch required in winter months.

Leaders: Varies each week
Meet on the astroturf at Newent Community School during the winter months (October – March) and at Newent Cricket Club during the summer months.  Winter start time is 6.10 for 6.20, summer start time 6.20 for 6.30.

Meet for 6.30pm start at the Beauchamp Arms, Dymock, for a run then a drink afterwards (when permitted!)  Hi viz and head torch required in winter months.

Newent Parkrun, a weekly, free, timed, 5k run – meet at 8.45 for 9.00am start at Newent Community School/Leisure Centre.  Please see for details.

Meet at the lake car park 8.30am, or earlier if running elsewhere, for an 8.30 start time at the venue. All welcome. Distances to suit. Keep an eye on the latest news section and the Facebook group for each week’s schedule.
