Seasoned Newent Runners’ ultra-runner Mark Cryer introduced two novices to the distance, John Featherstone and Jonathan Miles, at the 100K Race to the Stones.  All enjoyed the experience, even the camping out, and completed the challenge, which was an impressive achievement by all.

Seventeen Newent Runners members completed the Gloucester 10K on Sunday with Henry Willis being first member home in 44:32:8, in his first race at the distance.  Not to be outdone, his mother Julie Willis finished second in her category (F 55-64) in 49:20:3.

Other results: Adrian Fishpool (44:47:3 PB), Andrew Lloyd (46:50:4 PB), Philip Rowe (47:00:8), Steve Ollis (52:17:0), Micaela Swan (52:31:0 PB), Adele Mitchell 52:35:7), Nick Hill (55:31:8), Nicola Hill (55:32:6), Susan Pritt (56:54:4), Melanie Villegas (58:26:6), Leah McAteer (59:22:3), ), Helen Kelly (1:00:11:8), Lisa Mansfield (1:00:13:6), Mandy Whittington (1:05:47), Trudy Jones (1:06:55)and Kerri Greenwold, who has recently graduated from the 0-5K Group, finished her first ever race in 1:09:55.

Also on Sunday, the Club were represented at the Evesham 10K by David Jones, who finished in an impressive 49:33 while pushing his grandson in a buggy. Heather Jones and Sally Taylor finished together in 1:14:30.  David and Heather’s grandson, Isaac, gained a further medal that day after completing the Toddler’s 500m Fun Run, showing credentials for being a potential star for the future.

Mandy Hampton, supported by Josh Hampton, completed the London Vitality 10K, crossing the line together at 1:04 along with 20,000 others. They raised over £200 for Cancer research.
