John Featherstone completed the ‘Race to the King’ Ultra Marathon this weekend. The South Downs Double Marathon (53.5 miles) started near Arundel, West Sussex with the route taking in the South Downs National Park before finishing on the steps of Winchester Cathedral. John commented that “It’s a fantastic event with a bit of everything. (I) didn’t realise the South Downs were so hilly. Some boggy jogging, a flinty sprint or two, but mostly a chalky walk.”
Chris Barber and Emily Trenwith both travelled to Wales, competing in the JCP Swansea Half Marathon. Barber finished in 2:07:26 (PB) and Trenwith, having little training since sustaining injury following Cardiff Half, in a respectable 2:40:47.
